13 November 2018 Big River Impact Foundation appoints its inaugural CEO Big River Impact Foundation has appointed Adam Mooney as the inaugural Chief Executive Officer to lead its ongoing growth and development. The Chair, Josephine Cashman said, ‘Adam Mooney’s innovative approach, capability and experience in community and organisational development will place Big River as a leading social and economic contributor across our region’. Big River is an innovative not for profit organisation established and led by a Board of Aboriginal women from across Australia with experience and influence across a broad spectrum. Our primary aim is to implement lasting economic strength and independence for people on low incomes, especially Aboriginal and single older women. Adam comes to Big River from Good Shepherd Microfinance where he was the inaugural CEO for seven years. He established the organisation and it has grown to positively reach over a million people on low incomes. He has developed trusting relationships with governments, corporations and philanthropic partners. He has raised over $300m. Prior to this appointment he was at Reconciliation Australia for four years, both as Acting CEO and Director of the Reconciliation Action Plan program when it commenced, seeing significant engagement in all sectors.
