Successful Indigenous women led our Foundation.  We are the only charitable institution in Australia that seeks to apply social impact investment strategies to developing Indigenous economies.

The Big River Impact Foundation journey started more than five years ago.  Founded in 2016 by the Executive Chair, Josephine Cashman, Dr Marcia Langton and Dr Aaron Corn.  We have brought together a talented and diverse team.

The Foundation understands the importance of community involvement in decision making and execution. We work in partnership with community leaders, Land Councils and business owners to ensure our investment models are culturally aligned and sustainable. We are the only charitable organisation in Australia applying social impact investment approaches to Indigenous economies.

Big River Impact Foundation is a philanthropic entity with deductible gift recipient item 1 (DGR1) status approved by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

Big River Impact Foundation acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands we visit through the course of our work and recognise the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders both past, present and future.
